A Ghost Ensemble Trio (feat. Ben Richter, Alice Jones, & Lucia Stavros)

Ghost Ensemble members Ben Richter (accordion), Alice Jones (flute), and Lucia Stavros (harp/voice) create exhilarating sonic structures in a trio improvisation. Ghost Ensemble is dedicated to experimental music that explores the act of listening, expands perceptual horizons, and encourages a common immersive experience. In this tumultuous year, we explore the potential of remote ensemble improvisation to offer restorative community connection.

Leo Chang / Chris Williams / Miriam Parker

This set features Chris Williams (trumpet), Leo Chang (VOCALNORI: amplified gongs through voice), and Miriam Parker (movement, installation, video) as they engage with sound and movement together.

Matthew Goodheart w/ Shawn Lawson, visuals: Berlin Head Metal IV

Composer Matthew Goodheart and video artist Shawn Lawson present the final movement of his 2019 release on Infrequent Seams - a large-scale, four movement binaural sound work. Metal Percussion instruments were recorded, and the recordings were then played back through the same instruments using surface transducers, and recorded again.

Miya Masaoka's "Four Moons Of Pluto" (James Ilgenfritz w/ Ross Wightman & Will Yager)

A telematic trio performance of Miya Masaoka's 2015 solo work, composed for and premiered by James Ilgenfritz, which subsequently received its first bass ensemble performance by an ensemble of bassists directed by Robert Black.

Katie Porter solo clarinet at the Sun Tunnels

Three works from Katie Porter's ongoing solo experimental clarinet at Nancy Holt's Sun Tunnels, filmed and recorded in 4 channels, deep in the northern Utah desert. This set is Microexercises by Christian Wolff, one part recorded on site and the second part of In Situ, Long Distance from Clarinet Songs by Daniel Goode, and FIVE for solo clarinet & cell phone by Lucie Vítková.

Red Desert Ensemble / Devin Maxwell / Svavar Jónatansson

Bonneville Park 3 by Devin Maxwell for solo clarinet and electronics is the first release off the Red Desert Ensemble (Katie Porter clarinets, Devin Maxwell, percussion/electronics) debut album CHOROCHRONOS. Icelandic filmmaker and photographer Svavar Jónatansson created a dark-ambient video art response, a pairing of spacious intensity and shimmering electronics.

Red Desert Ensemble: duo set Katie Porter and Devin Maxwell

Red Desert Ensemble (Katie Porter, clarinets and Devin Maxwell, percussion) play American't for clarinet and bowed guitar and bluesnoblues for electronics both by Devin Maxwell and A Song for a Desert for bass clarinet and vibraphone by Will Lang. Debut album CHOROCHRONOS featuring works by André Cormier, Devin Maxwell, Lucie Vítková and Michael Pisaro is released on Infrequent Seams

Sarah Krasnow / Wendy Richman: On Guard

On Guard (video completed at the Catwalk Arts Residency) is an ongoing movement theater project that places museum guards front and center of an artistic work, rather than on the periphery. Wendy Richman improvises on viola to Sarah Krasnow’s video.

String Noise: ARCHIVE01 [Absolute Recoil] (2020) LIVE VERSION by Lester St. Louis

Absolute Recoil is a means to ask a performer to be generative, intuitive and responsive. The piece is a prompt: ʻʼProvide a non-mimetic, interactive performance in real time.ʼʼ The remainder of the information in the piece is to guide you through the process to achieve the Prompt. This is a video from the LIVE premiere performance on Carnegie Hill Concerts Midday Music Festival 2020.

Ted Reichman Solo (Music & Poetry)

Dread Sea - Preview of an extended text/sound piece for percussion, accordion, tape and synthesizers inspired by journeys over, under and through water. Video performance and reading recorded in Ted's studio.

Lucie Vítková / Muyassar Kurdi

In our continuing duo project, we will make a new piece based on graphic scores. Muyassar Kurdi and Lucie Vítková both created new scores for the festival; Muyassar drew one for Lucie, who will perform it on hichiriki and voice, and Lucie has created a new graphic score drawn with expired makeup, which will be played by Muyassar with electronics and voice. In the 7-minute piece, we will superimpose the materials into one complete interaction.

Odeya Nini & Archie Carey: Third Eye

Cataloguing moments of the inner hum that carries us through waking hours as parents and lovers. Tuning in to the wisdom of long tone repetition.
