about

“opera-in-overdrive” – The Wire

“spasmodic punk-metal hammering and bursts of what might be termed shriekstimme” – New York Times

“I hope this is the future” – Robert Ashley

Internationally acclaimed New York based performance group Object Collection, led by writer/director Kara Feely and composer Travis Just present their 2015 noise-opera “cheap&easy OCTOBER”, recorded live in performance in the East Village at LaMaMa. Based on interviews about the aftermath of the Gezi Park Protests in Turkey and Trotsky’s “History of the Russian Revolution”, “cheap&easy OCTOBER” careens forward with crushing guitar, synthesizer, violin and drums and is filled with musical non-sequitur and ecstatic voices. A commemoration of forgotten events where talk is cheap, to the great emptiness of a post-revolutionary society, “cheap&easy OCTOBER” is an homage, a send-up and a surrender.

Infrequent Seams New York

"OOTHER LOOUD MUZIK -Clozn vp Pageants since 2012" We presents new work by emerging composers & performers in New York City & elsewhere. We seek to locate a post-downtown musical practice in & out of New York City. Conceptually we support music that treats the AACM, MEV, Sonic Arts Union, No Wave, the New York School, and Vision / Arts For Art as antecedents to one emerging post-millennial genre. ... more
